Oatmeal, overnight, dry mix

Ingredients

  • 30 grams oats (about 1/4 cup)

  • 30 grams dried fruit

  • 1 tsp chia seeds (about 2 grams)

  • 1 tsp flax-seed-ground (about 3 grams)

  • 1 tsp hemp hearts (about 3 grams)

  • 2 tsp powdered peanut butter (about 5 grams)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (about 0.5 grams)

  • 1 pinch salt (about 0.25 grams)

Method

  • Sift together the dry ingredients
  • When ready to prepare, add ~ 160 mL plant milk. Put it in the fridge for at least 8 hours. Overnight is usually perfect.

Notes

  • You can vary the dried fruit, and add nuts and seeds and so on. Pumpkin seeds are one of my favourite things to add. Once you find a mix you like, making this in big batches can be nice.
  • I make a big ten-times-the-size batch of this, and store it in my pantry. Then I use 1-cup deli container, add a tenth of the dry mix, then top the container up with plant milk, mix it, and let it sit overnight. I do about 3-4 containers at a time. Nice quick breakfast prep!
  • I've tried using the food processor to chop up the dried fruit. Works pretty well! You can toss a handful of oats in with the dried fruit, to keep things from getting super stuck together.
