"method": "* Line a 9 by 9 inch baking dish with parchment paper\n* Preheat the oven to 325 degrees\n* Drop some portion of the oats (maybe half?) in a blender and pulse them a bit if you want a less crumbly, more chewy bar (note: haven't actually tried this, mostly speculation).\n* In a medium saucepan, combine the butter, sugar, honey, salt, and cinnamon\n* Melt the mixture over medium heat until the butter has melted and the brown sugar is mostly dissolved. Remove from heat.\n* Add the oats to the saucepan and mix into the butter sugar mixture until the oats are fully coated.\n* Press the mixture into the baking dish. Pat down the top with a spatula for a flat and even surface - this will also help the bars be less crumbly.\n* Bake at 325 for 25 minutes, or until the edges are just getting golden\n* Once done, cut into a 4 by 4 grid immediately, before they're cooled (Might make sense to press them down again first to avoid crumbliness, I'm not sure).\n* Let cool completely, then lift out of the pan using the parchment paper lining.\n* Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 5 days. Or freeze for longer.\n",
"notes": "* Recipe from a cool Backpacking Recipes website: [Backpacking Recipes - Hudson Bay Bread](https://www.backpacking.net/recipes/bread-hudson-bay.html)\n* Aiming for something like Hudson's Bay Bread\n* Find a base recipe... then come up with a shortlist of fun ingredients...\n * Oats, PB, nuts, seeds... dried fruit? Bulk Barn it up!\n * Goal is high calorie, kinda crunchy, kinda sweet, without being garbage.\n",
