Banana Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 50 grams frozen banana (about 1/2 a banana)

  • 250 mL soy milk

  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder

  • pinch salt

  • dash of vanilla extract

Method

  • Blend everything together
  • Pour over two ice cubes, let it sit for a second
  • Clean the blender before you start drinking, so much easier
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Loosely based on a recipe from Molly Katzen's amazing cookbook {Pretend Soup
  • Note there's lots you can add in here if you want, to pep it up! A few optional examples...
  • frozen spinach - 10 grams you'll barely taste it, even 20 grams is VERY mild
  • ground flax - a half teaspoon is a nice amount!
  • spoonful of almond butter - great for getting some extra calories from healthy fats
  • spoonful of yogurt - nice if you like a little tang and probiotics
